This week was a very full week of pediatric testing knowledge. Not only was the ATI exam completed for this class, but also for NSG 424. By practicing all of these questions, I was able to gain a deeper understanding of the content. With this exam, I utilized the techniques I have been trying to master in the past weeks. These include highlighting key points in the question, and rereading the question multiple times in order to have the best understanding of it. This ATI exam however was by far my longest assessment which tested me on my ability to handle question fatigue. As the exam kept going, I began to feel frustrated and irritated towards it. I was able to take many breaks though which helped break up the work. I found myself making silly errors simply because I was fatigued by the questions. This exam taught me ways that I can cope with the fatigue. By the end of it, I felt less foggy and more focused on the material. This was a great experience for me because I was able to teach myself how to get through this wall.
Next time, I hope to use these strategies to remain fully focused throughout the entirety of the exam. By learning when I get burnt out and how to correct it to get me back on track, it has now placed me in a great position going forward for all of my assessments.
